The Town of Ladysmith is kicking off plans for a brand-new skatepark next to the Frank Jameson Community Centre (FJCC).
Our existing skatepark has been holding it down since 1999, back when skateboarding was all the rage — Tony Hawk's Pro Skater was released that same year! But that was 24 years ago, and while we gave it a cool makeover in 2011, it’s time for a brand new skatepark design that’s fresh, inclusive, and totally lit for skaters, bikers, and riders of all levels.
That’s why the Town is moving forward with a feasibility study to assess what’s needed now and, in the future, and to get the lowdown on construction costs. We’ve also teamed up with New Line Skatepark Inc. to create a fresh design, ensuring the new skatepark will be inclusive and user-friendly, perfect for all skill levels.
As part of the project, we’re asking residents and skatepark users to help shape the future of this space by completing the survey below. Your feedback will help the Town and New Line Skatepark come up with a new skatepark design that’s not just hype for today, but for years to come.
