The Town of Ladysmith is moving forward with a comprehensive audit of its website as part of a long-term vision to redesign it into a modern, highly accessible, and user-friendly platform that will serve residents, businesses, and visitors for years to come.

The Town has hired KIMBO Design to conduct the website audit.

As part of the audit process, the Town and KIMBO Design are seeking feedback from residents on the existing website and have launched a survey that will take anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes to complete. The goal of the survey is to identify what’s working well, what’s not and where improvements can be made.

The survey will be available on November 14 at 9:00 am. Residents have until November 23 at 11:59 pm to complete the survey, which can be found below once it is live.

Why are we doing this?

Our current website is no longer meeting community needs. It is not user-friendly, presents navigation challenges and has limited accessibility features.

These issues make it harder for residents, businesses, and visitors to efficiently access information and services.

Before a full redesign can begin, an audit of the website is required. This is similar to completing preliminary design work before moving ahead with an infrastructure project.

What will the audit do?

The audit will evaluate the existing site’s structure, content, functionality, accessibility, and user experience. The findings will help identify strengths and weaknesses, ensuring that future redesign efforts are strategic, cost-effective, and aligned with community needs.

The results of the audit will also inform a future Request for Proposal for a full website redesign, which is anticipated for 2026.

Why was Kimbo chosen?

KIMBO Designs was selected for its proven expertise in conducting website audits and leading redesigns for numerous municipalities across the province—including Qualicum Beach, Sidney, Squamish, and Ucluelet—resulting in websites that are highly accessible and easy to use.
